Hello friends:

Well, I must admit that I have been chastised by more than one about my old letter on the website....I plead guilty...
busy....neglectful....but still guilty!!

In this last year, I did travel a great deal. In flying everywhere I worked, needless to say, I spent a lot of time in
airports with cancelled flights and delays due to weather most of the time. I had a wonderful year though....I flew to
New York in late October and spent a week in Manhattan with my nephew and his wife...They have a big high rise by
Central Park...We walked and walked daily. I loved the excitement and all of the street vendors, etc...We went to the
theater and saw "Phantom Of The Opera" which I absolutely loved...We also saw, "Momma Mia"...another great
evening....We went to The Blue Note Cafe and had a great meal...This is the cafe where Norah Jones in the
eclectic, pop field used to perform...We also went to Feinsteins and had another great evening of awesome food
and Cabaret music.  We went to Chinatown.....Little Italy.....just everywhere....A wonderful week....

I then returned home to Nashville and worked a date in Kansas City with Jim Ed Brown....and then it was time to
play again...I drove to Branson and spent another week with my friends there...We got iced and snowed in, so we
spent a lot of time eating in front of the fireplace.   After returning from Branson on Dec. 4th, my sister Sharon flew in
from California to spend two weeks with me...We were very busy with Christmas parties, parades, the Opry, etc...
She had a great time...

After those two weeks, I had just a few days to finish my Christmas wrapping and then headed to Knoxville, Tn., for
Christmas with my son, Denny, wife Debbie and two grand babies....Ross who is 2-1/2 yrs. old and Morgan who is
5 months old. Christy was also there for Christmas, but she had to come back to Nashville the next day to work...
Actually, I think to see her boyfriend, but work played a part in it as well .I stayed a week to baby sit as daycare was
closed until after New Years.   I actually came home on New Year's Eve and was in bed by 9 PM that night...SAD!!  I
had invitations to two different parties, but I was just glad to be home...sleep in my own bed, and yes....BE ALONE!!

Since the New Year has begun, I have had my year check up from my cancer surgeon...mammography and all were
great...I go back in 6 months for another follow up...My neice, Kathy, has short curly hair once again...She says she
tires more easily than before, but that is expected with chemo and 6-1/2 weeks of radiation...but all looks well at this
point in her life...Please remember her in your prayers.

Jeannie Seely and friend Carolyn McClain get me into a lot of trouble with too much shopping, but we take a lot of it
back...None of us like to try on things in the store, so we go shopping one day...go home and try things on, and then
return what does not fit the next day...Most of all, we laugh and laugh and have a great time together.

A lot of ladies who have been associated in the music industry in one way or another are in a group called the
LaTeDah Ladies...We have lunch at some nice restaurant every Thursday...I did not get to go for about 2-1/2
months, but did get to join them again this past week and will this week...We also have a wonderful "sisterhood"
within this group, and much laughter.  I live in a wonderful neighborhood and have so many ladies friends very
close to me...I help take my neighbor to dialysis every week. She goes three days a week and we have several
neighbors who all try to help out...I have nothing but admiration for anyone who stays strong mentally and
emotionally while trying to stay strong physically and go through this process...Pretty amazing...

Dates are coming in pretty well this year, so I hope to see many of you on the road. I promise to do better about
updating on my letters...I just get lazy and plan on doing it the next day.

Susan continues to do a great job on the website as well as stay thin and take care of herself on the nutrition level...
Had I not been a singer, I probably would have done something in the diet and nutrition field....I continue to take my
vitamins and eat lots of healthy foods....what we eat and how much we exercise is a definite factor in our healthy....
So friends...eat your rainbow of food colors and exercise this year..

Well, you can tell that I have taken a lot more time for myself since the cancer and I heartily recommend that plan for
all of you...Life is short and uncertain at best...Let your loved ones and friends hear from you and know that you love
them, and yes, play a lot!!

Love to all of you.    Helen
